The Silent Invaders - A forgotten Novel

"It is, after all, a book whose very existence I managed to forget in just 11 years- not because I was repressing the memory, mind you, just because I had no reason to keep it in the mind”

Overview

Abner Harris is an alien who’s disgusied himslef as a human. His job it to either make an alliance with the humans or destroy them before another alien race know as the “Medlins” comes to earth. His allegiances are challenged throughout the book as he questions his own mission

Pros

It’s a light read at 143 pages and you could read it in about 2-3 hours.

Cons

Silverberg completely forgot he wrote the book. He says that the book is mediocre and probably not even that important to his collection of works. Overall it’s exactly what he said. A mediocre Sci-Fi book.

Should You Read It?

No. If you manage to find this book than the best memorable thing is the Introduction. A lot of people talk up their novel in the introduction but he does the opposite. He tells it how it is and lets you know the novel is mediocre and not very memorable.
